Living Stones - Rocks
After a break of a number of years, and as a result of demand from young parents, St Leonard's is re-intoducing Sunday School. The resource used is called "Living Stones" which is a series for three age groups; the very young - Pebbles - for 6 to 10 - Rocks - and Boulders for older children. As a beginning we shall be using Rocks for the 6 to 11 age group.
Susan Sayers is an Anglican priest, author and composer. It is Susan Sayers' firm belief that children are as much a part of the Church as adults; with Rocks children have their own Living Stones teaching programme based on the readings of the Common Worship Lectionary. Each week's teaching is closely linked to the ideas developed in adult worship but is tailor-made to stimulate the minds and imaginations of 6-10 year olds.
Starters, teaching ideas, prayer and activities are reinforced by worksheets for every Sunday. Each worksheet includes practical activities, puzzles, prayers and ideas through which children can explore their developing faith.
